Frequently asked questions
Can a single person register a company in Pakistan?
Yes. The Companies Act, 2017 allows a single member company, where one person is the sole shareholder and director, with a nominee named to act if that person dies or becomes unable to act.
What do I need to register a company with SECP?
Typically a proposed company name, CNIC or passport details of the directors and shareholders, the registered office address, the shareholding and capital structure, and the company's principal line of business. We prepare the constitutional documents and file the application.
Does a company have ongoing SECP obligations after incorporation?
Yes. Companies must file an annual return, keep statutory registers, hold required meetings, and report changes such as new directors or share transfers within the prescribed time. Missing these filings can lead to penalties.
