Tax Lawyer in Lahore for FBR & PRA Matters
A notice from the Federal Board of Revenue or the Punjab Revenue Authority usually comes with a short deadline and real money at stake. Legal Visionaries represents individuals and businesses in Lahore across the full life of a tax matter — from registration and routine filing to audits, amended assessments, and appeals.
We work under the Income Tax Ordinance, 2001, the Sales Tax Act, 1990, the Federal Excise Act, 2005, and the Punjab Sales Tax on Services Act, 2012, and we deal directly with the Regional Tax Offices and the Large Taxpayers Office in Lahore.
What we handle
Replying to FBR notices
Written replies and hearings for notices such as amendment of assessment (section 122), withholding tax default (section 161), and information or record requests, prepared with the supporting documents the officer will expect.
Tax audits
Representation when your case is selected for audit under section 177 of the Income Tax Ordinance or section 25 of the Sales Tax Act, including document preparation and responses to audit observations.
Appeals
Appeals before the Commissioner Inland Revenue (Appeals) and the Appellate Tribunal Inland Revenue, and tax references and writ petitions before the Lahore High Court.
Sales tax and PRA
Federal sales tax registration and returns for goods, PRA registration and monthly returns for services, and the input tax and jurisdiction questions that sit between the two.
Registration and annual filing
NTN registration, annual income tax returns and wealth statements through IRIS, and getting back onto the Active Taxpayer List after a missed deadline.
Tax planning
Reviewing how income, salaries, rent, and business transactions are structured so that withholding and final tax liabilities are correct before a notice arrives.
Frequently asked questions
I received a notice from FBR. What should I do first?
Note the date you received it and the response deadline, and do not ignore it — an unanswered notice can lead to an ex parte order based only on the department's information. Bring the notice and your recent returns to a tax lawyer so the reply addresses the specific section it was issued under.
How long do I have to appeal an FBR order?
Time limits are strict. An appeal to the Commissioner Inland Revenue (Appeals) generally has to be filed within 30 days of receiving the order, and a further appeal to the Appellate Tribunal Inland Revenue within 60 days of the Commissioner's decision. Check the exact limit for your order as soon as you receive it.
Do you handle both FBR and PRA matters?
Yes. Federal income tax and sales tax on goods are administered by FBR, while sales tax on services in Punjab is administered by the Punjab Revenue Authority. Many Lahore businesses deal with both, and we represent clients before each.
